Travel Insurance For Schengen, Dubai Visa, and Others – Apply. Covid-19 Trips (Coronavirus)

If you are traveling to any of the Schengen countries listed below, be it leisure or business, you need to provide proof of adequate medical travel insurance coverage at the time of visa application and after. The same applies when traveling to Dubai and other countries. Due to the novel Coronavirus (Covid19), every applicant may need to show travel insurance and PCR test, at the port of entry or before boarding a flight. Click here to apply for travel insurance.

One travel insurance covers your stay in all 26 Schengen states. Subsequently, we will show you the list of Schengen states your travel insurance cover below.

What Does Travel Insurance Cover?

We will show why you must book travel insurance before you take that trip and the extra value you get when you book with us.

Flight cancellation / Interruption

Travel insurance aims at dealing with all the contingencies that you might face during the course of travel. Flight delays and flight cancellations are such scenarios wherein your travel itinerary may get hampered. For flight cancellation, usually, the cancellation has to be due to a valid reason such as weather disturbances, terrorism activity, or natural disaster.

When your trip is interrupted after you’ve left for a covered reason, your travel insurance can reimburse the unused portion of your prepaid expenses, excluding any refunds you receive. Additionally, if your trip is interrupted for a covered reason, reasonable transportation expenses to get you to your original destination via alternative means can be claimed for as well. Finally, in the unfortunate scenario that a traveling companion is hospitalized, a maximum of $100 per day for up to five days may be reimbursed for additional accommodation and transportation expenses.

Baggage Loss/Damage Delay

If your baggage is lost, damaged, or stolen while you’re traveling, travel insurance can reimburse you for the actual price, actual cash value, repair, or replacement. However, this is based on the limits in your insurance policy’s letter of confirmation. To be eligible for this benefit, you must take reasonable steps to keep your baggage safe and recover it, as well as file a report with the appropriate authorities with all the needed details outlined in your policy.

When your baggage is delayed by a common carrier, hotel or tour operator for 12
hours or more, travel insurance can reimburse you for reasonable essential items up to the specific policy’s limit until your baggage arrives. If your plan includes SmartBenefitsSM, you can opt to receive a fixed inconvenience payment of $100 per insured person, per day, for a covered baggage delay (up to the maximum no-receipts limit). No receipts required — just proof of a covered delay.

Air Ticket Change Fees

If you have to change the dates on your airline ticket for a covered reason, travel insurance can reimburse you for the fees charged by the airline to change these dates up to the benefit limit described in your plan’s letter of confirmation. (Covered reasons include having your trip canceled or interrupted for a covered reason listed — with the exception of cessation of operations — or because you or a traveling companion are delayed by severe weather on the way to your flight as long as you allowed enough time to board your flight as scheduled).
